Selected projects

Where strategy meets real consequence.

A change of strategy, a platform relaunch or an innovation project: in every one of my projects user research is the starting point and a validated outcome is the goal. Here is a selection of my projects.

Starting point

A cross-divisional team at a universal bank was exploring how Financial Data Access (FiDA) could grow into a genuine financial home for customers. The goal: a validated solution concept within an eight-week innovation lab that creates value for customers and for the bank.

My contribution
  • Designed the entire innovation process along the Double Diamond framework
  • Facilitated the workshops: sharpening personas, developing the value proposition, detailing use cases through user story mapping, collaborative visualisation in design studios
  • Supported a quantitative study and ran a qualitative one
Outcome

A validated prototype whose core use cases were understood and rated positively across the board — and which carried the board's decision to build.

Stakeholders: Cross-divisional innovation lab team, product owners, executive sponsor
Starting point

The digital platforms of a leading eastern Austrian energy provider were outdated technically and conceptually. The customer portal was barely usable on mobile and offered no reason to come back. Competitors were launching their own digital services, adding pressure to renew.

My contribution
  • A human-centred, co-creative service design approach to redesign core user processes — anchored in customer needs and business goals
  • UX design for the new customer portal, the website and its key processes, validated iteratively through regular usability tests
  • Built a content strategy including a tone-of-voice process whose results were rolled out across teams
Outcome

A contemporary, user-centred platform with higher relevance and return rates — and a digital presence that strengthens the company's position as a modern energy partner.

Stakeholders: Marketing, sales, IT and customer service — alignment up to executive management
Starting point

The digital experience of a leading hotel group was heavily desktop-centric, even though more than two thirds of traffic came from mobile devices. Booking flows were long, overloaded with content and delivered disappointing conversion rates.

My contribution
  • Designed and facilitated a co-creation design sprint with an interdisciplinary team of 12 client-side experts
  • Built an interactive mid-fidelity mobile-first prototype to validate the core interactions
  • Ran on-site guerrilla user tests for early, honest feedback on the new concept
Outcome

A mobile-optimised, user-centred website concept that speeds up conversion-critical flows and makes booking noticeably more pleasant for guests.

Stakeholders: Interdisciplinary team from marketing, sales, IT and operations — including executive management
Starting point

A global supplier of speciality chemicals positioned itself as a customer-centric player, yet its existing eCommerce system no longer met rising user expectations. Poor mobile support and weak usability in particular were holding digital growth back.

My contribution
  • Planned and facilitated several design sprints to establish the conceptual foundation of the new platform
  • Built an interactive mid-fidelity prototype to validate core interactions early
  • Continuously evolved processes and templates along user and business requirements
Outcome

A state-of-the-art eCommerce experience that matches leading B2C platforms on usability — and that measurably contributed to a higher digital share of revenue.

Stakeholders: Global product and platform team, regional stakeholders, corporate IT
Starting point

A globally active B2B electronics distributor collected its suppliers' sales data manually by email — quarterly, error-prone and time-consuming. The data ended up in a reporting platform with limited planning and analysis options.

My contribution
  • Content strategy to enrich this data-driven product with relevant features and a clear tone of voice
  • Concept and UX design for a new platform with a dynamic dashboard, integrated reports and a clear information architecture
  • International usability tests with strategic key accounts to validate the next development steps qualitatively
Outcome

An efficient, scalable reporting process with strong usability — and more trust among suppliers through transparency, self-service and clear data.

Stakeholders: International key accounts, sales, supply chain, corporate product management
Starting point

A manufacturer known for petrol-powered chainsaws faced growing competitive pressure. The goal was to strengthen the electric segment and reach new B2C audiences through larger retailers.

My contribution
  • Designed and ran a qualitative retailer study as the basis for sharply defined personas
  • Facilitated customer and content journey workshops as the foundation for the B2C marketing strategy
Outcome

A strategic repositioning of the electric segment, greater visibility in retail and clear differentiation from low-cost competitors.

Stakeholders: Marketing, sales, product management — including executive management
Starting point

The website of a national funding agency no longer met the complex information needs of its users. Content was hard to find, the portfolio looked impenetrable and the platform offered little orientation along the funding process.

My contribution
  • Structured and guided the project along the Double Diamond framework — from analysis through to delivery
  • Co-created the core templates and built a mid-fidelity prototype for early concept validation
  • Reworked the information architecture and ran a usability study for data-based optimisation
Outcome

A flexible, user-centred web presence that gives orientation along the funding journey, scales editorially and communicates a wide portfolio clearly.

Stakeholders: Funding programme owners, communications, IT, executive management
Starting point

The websites of a climate communication programme were comprehensive but hard to navigate. The sheer breadth and depth of content made it difficult to find relevant information — especially for audiences with very specific needs.

My contribution
  • Audience analysis and ad-hoc personas to build a sharper understanding of user needs
  • An audience-led information architecture designed for findability
  • Co-created modular page templates, then built and tested a mid-fidelity prototype
Outcome

A clearly structured website with intuitive navigation that guides different audiences efficiently to the right content — and inspires them to take an active part in climate action.

Stakeholders: Programme management, communications, subject matter experts, agency partners
